Redskins pick up Kerrigan's 5th-year option

The Washington Redskins waited a long time, but they finally made a move that was expected.
   The team picked up the fifth-year option on linebacker Ryan Kerrigan's contract Friday, something general manager Bruce Allen strongly hinted earlier in the week would happen.
   Washington will pay Kerrigan, the 16th overall pick in the 2011 draft, approximately $7.03 million in 2015.
   The Redskins have always liked Kerrigan's game, particularly his high motor and growing versatility.
   specifically Kerrigan and fellow outside linebacker Brian Orakpo.
