White Sox put Abreu on DL with ankle injury

Chicago White Sox rookie first baseman Jose Abreu, the major league leader in home runs, was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with tendinitis in his left ankle.
The White Sox announced that Abreu has been diagnosed with posterior tibia tendinitis in the ankle.

After limping during an at-bat that ended with a fly out, Abreu was replaced in the seventh inning Saturday by veteran Paul Konerko.
